Jesus addresses the practice of swearing oaths as a way to make your words seem more trustworthy and credible. But on a deeper level, Jesus also addresses all forms of verbal manipulation where we add words or spin words in order to help us achieve what we want. And this is something that is much more prevalent in our own lives than we often realize.
This is episode seven in our study of Jesus’ Sermon on the Mount, and today we are going to listen to what Jesus has to say about swearing and telling nothing but the truth.
